# Search results

> The search page: results with filters and sorting, links to switch between products, articles and pages, and helpful suggestions before a search and when nothing is found.

## Results

The results work like a collection's [Product grid](https://themelab.page/tally/docs/sections/product-grid.md): products per page and per row, the 2/3/4 and list switch, the default view, pagination, filters (from the Search & Discovery app) and sorting.

**Show result type links** adds *All*, *Products*, *Articles* and *Pages* under the search field.

## Before a search and when nothing is found

With **Show popular searches, collections and products** on, the page is never empty:

- **Popular searches** from **Theme settings › Search**, as chips.
- The **Collections** you pick.
- A grid of products (**Products to show**, 4–12) from **Products from** – or the collection in Theme settings > Search, or all products.

The same suggestions appear under a search with no results, so shoppers always have a next step.

> In the **Search & Discovery** app, add synonyms (*sofa* and *couch*) and boost the products that should come first.
